Client: Birmingham City F.C.
Project: Installation of a secondary drainage scheme at St Andrews, the home of Birmingham City F.C.*

Stage 1: A sand banding scheme was applied to compliment the existing piped drainage system & take the pitch to the highest possible standard

Stage 2: Narrow slits were constructed at right angles to the existing drainage and filled with gravel and sand

Stage 3: The bands were spaced closely to allow surface water to enter the piped drainage system faster

Stage 4: Minimal damage allows
the pitch to recover quickly

* Secondary drainage can only work in conjunction wuith an existing primary or piped scheme
